Gastro, Food Poisoning, Belly Bali? Try Our Tummy Blend
Bloating, nausea, diarrhoea, cramping, digestive complaints are some of the most common reasons people reach out to me, and they're also some of the most responsive to homeopathic treatment. Whether it's a sudden tummy bug, chronic bloating that won't shift, or a child with an upset stomach, the right remedy can bring relief quickly and gently.
Why homeopathy works so well for digestion
The digestive system is deeply connected to the nervous system, the gut is sometimes called the "second brain" for good reason. Stress, anxiety, food sensitivities, illness and lifestyle all affect how we digest. Homeopathy addresses not just the physical symptoms but the whole context: what triggered the upset, what makes it better or worse, and what else is going on for the person. That's why it can be so much more precise and effective than a generic antacid or anti-nausea medication.
Homeopathic remedies for bloating
Carbo Veg — for gas and heaviness after eating
A heavy, sluggish feeling after eating, with lots of belching that brings temporary relief. Everything feels like it sits too long. The person may feel better for fresh air or being fanned. Often indicated after overindulgence or in someone with a sluggish digestive system generally.
Homeopathic remedies for nausea
Nux Vomica — nausea with the urge to vomit but can't
One of the most useful acute digestive remedies. Nux Vomica is for the person who feels intensely nauseous and wants to vomit but can't quite manage to and would feel better if they could. Often follows overindulgence in food, alcohol or rich meals. Irritable, chilly, worse in the morning. Also useful for the nausea of early pregnancy.
Ipecac — constant, unrelenting nausea
When nausea is constant and not relieved by vomiting, the person vomits and immediately feels just as nauseous, Ipecac is the remedy. Often with excessive saliva and a clean tongue (unusual in someone this unwell).
Sepia — morning nausea, worse for the smell of food
Classic morning sickness nausea, or nausea that is triggered by the sight or smell of food. The person feels hollow and empty but eating doesn't help. Often better for vigorous movement.
Homeopathic remedies for diarrhoea
Arsenicum Album — the food poisoning remedy
When diarrhoea (and often vomiting) comes on after eating something questionable, the picture of food poisoning, Arsenicum is frequently the remedy. Burning pains in the digestive tract, great weakness and exhaustion, anxiety and restlessness. Worse after midnight. Chilly, and better for warmth in all forms.
Podophyllum — sudden, gushing diarrhoea
Sudden, explosive, painless diarrhoea that gushes out, often worse in the morning, often with gurgling before it hits. A common remedy for summer diarrhoea in children and for the loose stools that accompany teething.
Chamomilla — green diarrhoea in teething babies
When a baby or young child has green, slimy, offensive diarrhoea alongside teething or when they're in a Chamomilla state (furious, inconsolable, better for being carried), Chamomilla addresses both the digestive and emotional picture at once.

When digestive symptoms are chronic
If you're dealing with bloating, nausea or digestive upset that is persistent or recurring rather than acute, that's a signal worth paying attention to. Chronic digestive symptoms usually have a deeper root, whether that's stress, gut microbiome imbalance, food sensitivity, or an underlying constitutional pattern that needs addressing.
A full homeopathic consult looks at the whole picture and can offer much more targeted support than self-prescribing for each episode.
